Leadership Team Profile – Meet Mitch Rasmussen

Mitch RasmussenMainstream has built a successful business based on a couple guiding principles. One of those is that we build relationships with our customers – a successful strategy that has lasted for decades with many of our customers.

As a way to emphasize the human side of Mainstream Data, we wanted to start profiling some of the members of our leadership team to give everyone a chance to get to know how cool the people are working behind the scenes here. Today we’re featuring Mitch Rasmussen, Mainstream Data’s Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO. Starting with an accounting degree from the University of Utah and a MBA from Utah State University, Mitch has had a successful career with more than 25 years of management experience, including 15 years in the data and audio communications industry. As a member of the Leadership Team at Mainstream Data, Mitch has both Mainstream Data’s and our customers’ interests in mind, and he knows how to keep the company on track and moving forward.

How long have you been with the company?

I have been with Mainstream since April of 1990.

What do you like about working for Mainstream?

The people! Mainstream has hired the best business and technology people in order to meet our customer’s needs. It is a pleasure working with such a great group of people that are dedicated to providing the best technological solutions for complex content distribution and management problems.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love my role as the CFO. My goal in the finance function is three fold: provide excellent business support, keep our costs low and maintain an environment for growth.

What characteristic is most important to develop for a successful career?

Being respectful of others. Treating others with respect will ultimately earn respect.

What characteristic do you find is most important for you to have as a leader at Mainstream?

Being open to change. A leader will take into account all points of view and will be willing to change a policy, program, or cultural tradition that is outdated and no longer beneficial to the company.

Where are you from?

I spent most of my early years in the states of Washington and Utah.

What are your hobbies?

I love to waterski, golf and ride ATVs.

What do you like to do with your family?

Have all our children come home for dinner and games.

What is your favorite sports team?

San Francisco 49ers.
