If you’re creating content for your customers or trying to get a message or product to go viral, then you need to think about how to make it visually appealing and how to include multimedia with your content.

One benefit is that it means your content shows up in more than one part of a Google search – instead of showing up in the general web search, your content could also show up in a video search or an images search. Plus, Google tends to rank content with multimedia higher in its general search results.

In a social world, your content will not be shared without multimedia. Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine, and other social sites make taking and sharing images and videos so important.

We understand visual media. Newscom (and its sister company Pixation Images) is the world’s largest multimedia image licensing platform. We work with visual storytellers all over the world and we’ve seen how important images are for getting your message out in front of the right people. *Editor’s Note: There are rules for how to use images. If you haven’t licensed images before, you should check out our previous blog series about How to License Photography.

Newscom receives around 1.2 million images each month. That’s a lot of photos to go through sometimes. In a busy news month, like May was (we saw the three missing women found in Cleveland; the EF5 tornado sweeping through Moore; same-sex marriage passed in France; and playoffs in the NBA and NHL – there are A LOT of pictures related to any of those subjects) there are even more pictures and it’s hard to keep track of all the stories.  If you know exactly what you want (like a picture of a cute bunch of penguins) it’s easy to search for it get it. But sometimes if you’re just looking for a great photo to accompany your text, it can be overwhelming. We thought we’d help you out.

Every day the editors and researchers at Newscom go through the latest content coming in and pull out the most beautiful, awesome, or weird images that catch our attention. Then we put them together in an awesome collection and highlight the best photos from Newscom each month. You can check out the blog series at Newscom FocalPoint, but we thought we’d share some of our favorite creative images with you here just as a way to brighten up your Friday. Who doesn’t like looking at awesome and pretty pictures?
